Infographic design - Calendar 2013
Problem description:
To design the 2013 calendar in an unconventional way by showing all the year in the same page.
The design solution:
Is kind of weird to rethink a calendar, since we are used to see it the same way since we were kinds, so, the first thing to do is to identify and classify the kind of information we have. In this case I had five levels of data: months, weeks, days, holidays and moon phases. Color was the key to organize those levels.
I proposed to visualize the information in a vertical ordering because I wanted the user to be able to compare the moon phases and to see how it moves along the months. This way also makes it easier to identify the size of the month. It was an interesting exercise to apply visual communication in a simpler design.
